Mongena Main Lodge is conveniently located just 40 minutes from Pretoria and around an hour from Johannesburg, making it the perfect Big Five safari getaway without the long travel time.
Guests at Mongena Main Lodge can enjoy delicious, top-quality meals at our on-site restaurant. Dining includes a variety of gourmet dishes inspired by local and international cuisine, prepared with fresh ingredients and served in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Meals are included in our Full Board Package (excluding drinks with meals), and special dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice.
Our Full Board Package includes two wildlife activities per night stayed. Guests can choose from a morning or late afternoon safari drive, a sunset cruise on our private dam, or a guided bush walk with experienced rangers. Each activity offers a unique perspective of the African bush and its incredible biodiversity.
Mongena Game Reserve is home to the iconic Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo – offering guests the chance to experience classic African safari sightings on our guided game drives. In addition to large game, the reserve is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with over 300 bird species recorded, making it a prime destination for birdwatching throughout the year.
